Here's my favorite Disney villain, Chernabog from "Fantasia" (segment "Night On Bald Mountain"). This drawing was completed under three hours and made from the memory, without any reference, except that I watched "Fantasia" the night before.
The left wrist definitely needs to be corrected or redrawn in a different position, because it doesn't look right to me. Otherwise, I'm quite pleased with this picture.
And, today's the third anniversary of HammersonLand. It all started here, three years ago, and perhaps I should have wasted my free time in a better way... :)

Three years of HammersonLand...
(begins slow-mo' black-and-white montage of different drawings with "Memories" playing in the background)
...good times.
Oh, and I love the Chernabog fanart. Keep this up!
FOUR MORE YEARS...maybe.
I like that alot. Nice color theory and textures.
I like it a lot. I think the wrist looks fine. The whole thing reminds me of this Dio CD.

The illustrator for the cover was Randy Berrett. I think he did a lot of stuff in toy story.
Ohh and I just watched that part of Fantasia just now. I was amazed by all the crazy effects they did, like the warps, and the fog, and the fire. I wonder how they did that with what they had then.
Wow, that's a masterpiece! I love what you did with the colors. Even the linework on his wings have a gradient. Is that one of the textures I showed the the Pluto group?
>> FOUR MORE YEARS...maybe. <<
The blogs will probably become obstolete in four years, replaced with who knows what latest fad :)
Well, I'm torn between two options - either to close this damned place, or to keep updating it and open two new blogs (one for caricature, the other for movies). One of these options is crazy and unreasonable :)
Anyway, thanks for the compliments!
Tim: thanks a lot! I'm very satisfied with the colors and texture, it turned out exactly like I imagined it at the start.

"Dio has rocked for a long, long time,
Now it's time for him to pass the torch..."
Sorry, couldn't resist :)
Pretty good cover, I remember seeing it before.

Yeah, some really weird effects were done there, and I never saw anything similar in Disney features made before and after Fantasia. I guess the warps were not animated, but created with optical tricks, and superimposed over the background. I'll check the audio commentary on DVD, maybe it explains the technique.

Thank you!!!
That's the stock texture from a deviantART collection, and I made some modifications to it. I prefer to create my own textures, but this one was just perfect for the "ancient" mood that I wanted to achieve.
And I'll re-join the Pluto in a week. At the moment, I'm swamped with some drawing commissions and non-drawing jobs, plus I'm working on a feature length movie. More info about it soon...
Congrats on 3 years of blogging!
That drawing is so cool!! I love Fantasia, and "Night on Bald Mountain" is one of my favorite parts, even though it terrifies me.
I'd be excited to see a blog just for caricatures, but I like your fanart/girl drawings/etc just as much, so I hope you keep this blog!
it really very good.
I love it !
I like it !
thanks :)- .
